Psychology Support

When your child is given a diagnosis of CHD, it presents you with a different set of life and parental challenges than those you will have expected. The news and the management of your child’s care can have a traumatic impact on you and your family.

Our experience is that the whole family unit requires support to protect their psychological well-being. Heart Children is focused on responding to these needs and offers a range of services to help people with CHD – and their families – to live confidently, stay well and enjoy life to its fullest.

  • One-to-one support with our clinical psychologist via phone, online or in person. To make an application for support, please email info@heartchildren.ie or call us on 01 874 0990.
  • Online webinars/support group sessions hosted by our clinical psychologist. These monthly webinars cover common issues for parents & for young people/adults with CHD. See the events calendar for more information.
  • Play therapy for children with CHD and for siblings. This service is growing to locations around the country.
