Touch Therapy Workshop taking place on Sat 2nd March in Dublin City

We are delighted to announce our upcoming workshop with Lylah Byrne who many parents might already know from CHI Crumlin.

About the workshop and how it can help you.

Illness and hospitalisations are extremely stressful for both the child and family. They interrupt daily life, schooling, and friendships. Gentle Touch Therapy can assist in reducing stress levels, alleviate anxiety and foster wellbeing for both the child and parent.

This three-and-a-half-hour workshop will introduce you to Gentle Touch techniques which can be adapted to your child’s health needs. Touch therapy can be used at any age and the techniques can be adjusted to suit your child’s development. They can be delivered directly on the skin using some oil/cream or through your child’s clothes.

We will look at the benefits of touch therapies for you and your child and will have hands-on experiential exercises throughout the workshop to familiarise you with the different strokes/ techniques.  I will outline the reasons and times when touch therapies may not be beneficial for your child or should be used with caution.

It will be a relaxed informal learning environment, with plenty of opportunity for questions.  Please wear comfortable clothing and bring some towels and a pillow.

The workshop will run from 09.30hrs to 13.00hrs, in the Carmichael Centre, North Brunswick St, Dublin 7 on Saturday 2nd March.
