Parents to be – Online Meeting 13/6

Parents to be – Online Meeting 13/6

Technological advances in scanning (echocardiography) now make it possible for a diagnosis of CHD to be made in the early stages of pregnancy. As a result, 70% of all children in Ireland born with CHD are now diagnosed pre-natally. The greatest impact of a pre-natal diagnosis of CHD is that it allows the medical team to anticipate how the disease will impact the baby after delivery and to prepare for immediate medical management at birth, if it is required.

All of which is good news. But how does it make you feel as a new parent? How do you prepare for what lies ahead? Who should you talk to? What do you need to know?

If you are a parent-to-be who has received a pre-natal diagnosis of CHD, we invite you to take part in our online meeting, led by Snr Clinical Psychologist, Dr Claire Conlon. Meet other parents in a similar situation and link in with the psychological support services of Heart Children.

Join us on Tuesday, 13th June at 1 pm via Zoom from anywhere in Ireland. To register to receive the meeting link, please email info@heartchildren.ie
